No sense is as acute as hearing. Where the eyes would deceive, the ears usually identify unmistakably. We rely heavily on our sight because it is brighter and easier to perceive instantly without completely recognizing what we see. But it is through sound that we not only perceive the world around us but the same world within us. Our eyes see only three of many possible dimensions. Our ears are not limited – even by sound (for example: it is by our ears that we physically balance).
