Beginning back on Saturday, January 19th, 2002, The Prairie Lily Special has endeavored to celebrate and examine the glory and the story of Country Music, first as a one-hour show and, beginning in April 2007, as a two-hour weekly program.
This Saturday’s program (April 28th) will be the 500th edition for The Best Little Country Music Show On Radio. While there won’t really be anything special lined up (I did try to arrange for one notable for a special guest/interview segment, but nothing materialized), I will salute all of our Tribute Artists In Residence from the previous ten seasons. No Bookender Spotlight for this show, but it will return on May 5th featuring Moe Bandy and Joe Stampley.
To all of my listeners, I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve had to offer over the previous 499 shows. I know damn well that, at best, I’ve just begun to scratch the surface. I’m grateful to you for your support and listenership and very thankful that 91.3 FM CJTR Regina Community Radio thinks enough of what I do to allow me to continue exploring Country Music’s rich history and sharing the bounty of that exploration with you. Keep tuned in! Speaking for myself, the appetite to search and discover is still ravenous! Keep dialing in every Saturday 6 to 8pm and I’ll do my best to continue building upon the show’s tradition for high standards of presentation and acquisition of the very best recordings available. Thank You!
