AN APOLOGY FROM THE CONDUCTOR : PRAIRIE LILY SPECIAL (12/14/13)

To my loyal listeners:

For the first time in my twelve years as a 91.3 FM programmer, I’m unable to deliver a program to you over-the-air, despite being ready and prepared to do so.

Over the past few years, I’ve relied on Regina’s transit and taxi-cab services to get me to The Jimmy (CJTR’s studio on 7th Avenue). Changes to the former and unusually cold. snowy weather have forced me to use the latter more often. But this Saturday, December 14th I couldn’t secure adequate transport, so I was unable to broadcast that evening’s edition of The Prairie Lily Special.

There is nothing more frustrating to me than working over six hours preparing a program and not being able to deliver it. It’s obvious that I’ll have to re-examine my future travel arrangements. Hopefully, our weather will improve and the strain on Regina’s taxi system can be alleviated.

I will be back on Saturday, December 21st with the edition of The Prairie Lily Special that was intended to air on 12/14/13 (Pt. 2 Bookender Spotlight with Wade Ray), that is, if I can get a cab that day. To all of you who listen and enjoy TPLS on Saturdays, I’m truly sorry and I hope there won’t be a repeat of this anytime soon.
