CJTR and The U of R Conservatory of Performing Arts Radio and Podcasting camps!
In partnership with the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts, 91.3FM CJTR is proud to present two summer camps for youth ages 11-14! They will be presented in person at the Conservatory campus with a special field day at the CJTR studio.
In the Podcasting & Radio 101 Camp, from July 24th to 28th, students will learn the in’s and out’s of writing, recording, and broadcasting a podcast for distribution on air or online. Students will go from scriptwriting to recording a podcast in the short 4-day period about a topic of their choice.
Then, from August 21st to 25th, Radio Play 101 students will learn the in’s and out’s of writing, recording, and broadcasting a radio play for distribution on air or online. A radio play is all done through audio – sound effects, recorded dialogue, background noise, and more. Students will go from scriptwriting to recording the audio play in the short period. Radio Drama is something of a lost art these days, but we are big fans here at CJTR. Check out The Graveyard Tapes!
For both camps, the final audio performances will air on 91.3FM CJTR the week following the camp (exact dates/times TBD based on show schedule at that time).
There are many success stories that have come out of these programs and many young people have found their passion for Radio drama, broadcasting and production through participating in these short sessions. With a price point of only $275, with a discount available if you register for multiple camps, these camps are an affordable ways to help find your child’s passion and give them a summer full of activities.
