Annual General Meeting (AGM) + Call For Board Members

Charismatic singer-songwriter Belle Plaine will be the host and guest performer at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday September 14th at 6pm. Thanks Melanie! We’d also like to extend thanks to SaskMusic for hosting our AGM on their Zoom account.

Radius Communications Inc. is seeking new board members, including the key roles of Treasurer and Vice-President; details below.

The  Vice-President  is responsible for acting in the President’s stead where required, and to perform such other duties as determined by the Board of Directors. The Vice-President must have a demonstrated record of leadership and a commitment to community radio. This is a one-year term commitment to fill a vacancy.

The  Treasurer  is responsible for maintaining the corporation’s financial records, for preparation of financial statements, for fulfilling requirements of the corporation under the Act, and such other duties as determined by the Board of Directors. This is a one-year term commitment to fill a vacancy.

All Black Everything

2020 Look and Listen Lottery

Regina, SK – It’s time again to try your luck with the Look and Listen Lottery! This fundraiser gives people the opportunity to buy tickets to win a grand prize trip of their choosing to one of four great destinations.

The funds raised will go towards the operations of the station.

Rules of Play

 

  • Tickets will be $20.00. There will be no discount for multiple tickets.
  • Serial-numbered, two-part tickets will be sold. Three winners (3rd, 2nd, and 1st) will be selected by a random draw of retained ticket stubs from a drum. Stubs will be returned to the drum after each draw to allow equal opportunity to participate in all draws.
  • Draws will be made at # 301- 1102 8th ave, Regina, SK.
  • Staff and directors of Radius Communications and their immediate families are ineligible to win.
  • The prizes must be accepted as awarded and as supplied. No cash alternatives. The grand prize and 2nd prize must be booked by the end of July 2020. Third prize will be used August 9-11, 2020.
  • Tickets available for sale in Saskatchewan only, but can be purchased in Saskatchewan by non-residents of the Province of Saskatchewan.
  • Online tickets only for purchase by residents of Regina and surrounding area.
  • Must be 18 years of age and older to participate.
  • Tickets may be ordered from CJTR staff by calling 525-7274 during office hours, online at www.cjtr.ca/donate or by emailing CJTR staff at lookandlistenlottery@cjtr.ca. Payment can be by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Diner’s Club), cheque, or money order, and tickets will be mailed out once payment is confirmed.
  • Early bird prize will be drawn on March 20th, 2020 at 9am at the Regina Community Radio studios.
  • CJTR shall hold prizes that are unclaimed in a secure location for a period of one year from the date of the Draw. If at that time the prizes are still unclaimed, the prize or cash equivalent shall be donated to a charitable beneficiary approved by SLGA.

Podcasting and Radio 101 – Reading Week Youth Camp

The University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts and Regina Community Radio are proud to present PODCASTING AND RADIO 101, a winter creative camp for 11-14 year olds during reading week 2020, February 18-21st. Youth learn the in’s and out’s of writing, recording, and broadcasting a podcast for distribution on-air or on-line. Go from scriptwriting to public speaking in the short 4-day period about a topic of your choice and learn skills to bring home and try on your own. Campers will have the opportunity to go live on air on CJTR on the last day of camp.

Hour Two -Guest Piper: Pipe Major Iain MacDonald-City of Regina Pipe Band Association + Guest Fiddler: Mitchell Dureault-fiddler, violinist, teacher, entertainer-the guy with the ‘cigar box fiddles’.
  • Muzyka Ukraine (3-4pm): Muzyka Ukraine focuses on the best of Ukrainian classics and pop. All Canadian edition!

Community Radio Show-And-Tell

91.3FM CJTR, Regina Community Radio is opening its studio doors to women, girls and non-binary folks so that they can see how radio and podcasts are made.  This is a no-pressure, fun way to see if community radio is right for you!

How it works:

We take a small group of people into the studio to watch someone host a radio show. We will explain the basics of how the studio works, what kind of preparation is needed and what steps to take to get involved with Regina Community Radio.

Dates:

  • Friday, January 18th 2:30-4pm
  • Sunday, February 3rd from 5:30-7pm

If neither of those times work for you, get in touch and we will arrange another opportunity.
