CJTR/CPA Panel Discussions with Programmers
In partnership with the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts, CJTR will be offering two remote panel discussions with current volunteer programmers to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Talks 1.5 hours with a guided discussion from 7-8pm and a chance for an audience Q&A for the last 30 minutes. Talks are $5 with profits being shared between CJTR and the Conservatory. The talks will take place via Zoom with auto transcripts generated in the call.
Creating Dialogue in the Community Β – Tuesday, March 15 from 7-8:30pm. Featuring Dr. Charity Marsh (host of Imagine This!), Shannon Sweeney (host of The Mystic Voyage), and Dane Imrie (host of The Capital).
Performing with Sound– Tuesday, March 22 from 7-8:30pm. Featuring Chris Carlier (co-host of Operation Manatee), Megan Bates (co-host of Daebak!), and Ben Valiaho (host of Wake & Break).

This March, the Plain A.I.R. artist-in-residence is local super group People of the Sun! People of the Sun is all about co-creating, co-llaboration, co-ol music. In our residency, governed by names drawn from a hat, all eight of us will have the chance to interview a member of our band, and in turn be interviewed. Listeners will get to know us and dig into the sounds that inspire the band.

ABOUT PEOPLE OF THE SUN: People of the Sun, is an 8-piece Hip-Hop/R&B band comprising four vocalists and a four-man rhythm section. The vocalsβ section of the band includes industry veteran and community leader, Info Red, an Indigenous MC; Pakistani-born MC and producer, Origin of Spin; as well as Nigerian born singer/songwriters, Nini Jegz and ADEOLUWA. Completing the bandβs sound is the rhythm section, consisting of keyboardist Ethan Reoch; drummer Cyprian Henry; bass player Rob Lane; and guitarist Erik Mehlsen. Although the bandmates all come from a plethora of cultural and musical backgrounds, they have been able to create a unique sound that blends their various identities in a cohesive sound. The band, signed to Sharp 5 Records, released their first EP βThe Last Day of Summerβ in November of 2020. Since then, the band achieved national press attention, being featured in Exclaim! Magazine, and CBCβs Strombo Show. β£
