20th Anniversary of CJTR
We are excited to let our listeners know that CJTR is celebrating our 20th Anniversary! To celebrate this special milestone, from March 1 – 31, 2022, CJTR will be holding some special remote events and online activities.Β

CJTR/CPA Panel Discussions with Programmers
In partnership with the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts , CJTR will be offering two remote panel discussions with current volunteer programmers to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Talks 1.5 hours with a guided discussion from 7-8pm and a chance for an audience Q&A for the last 30 minutes. Talks are $5 with profits being shared between CJTR and the Conservatory. The talks will take place via Zoom with auto transcripts generated in the call.
- Creating Dialogue in the Community Β – Tuesday, March 15 from 7-8:30pm. Featuring Dr. Charity Marsh (host of Imagine This!), Shannon Sweeney (host of The Mystic Voyage), and Dane Imrie (host of The Capital).
- Performing with Sound – Tuesday, March 22 from 7-8:30pm. Featuring Chris Carlier (co-host of Operation Manatee), Megan Bates (co-host of Daebak!), and Ben Valiaho (host of Wake & Break).

Week #1 – March 1-5
- Wednesday, March 2 from 6-7pm – Spoiler Alert will be doing a throwback to 2001, where hosts Geremy, Sean, and Sonia will talk about the top movies and TV of the year as though they were recording in the year 2001. This show will rebroadcast on Friday, March 4 at 3pm.
- Wednesday, March 2nd from 1-3pm – Scotland Calling will be doing specials each Wednesday in March based on the ‘5 and 20 blacksmith’s that came frae Aviemore”Β trad song. This week 5 and Twenty Dance Bands.
- Wednesday, March 2 from 7-9pm – Host of My Electric,Β Ernie Dulanowsky, will take you back to 2002 when he hosted a one hour show named test_tones. Tune in to hear him recreate the first two episodes of test_tones.
- Thursday, March 3 from 1-2pm – On the Air is On the Air with Vincent Murphy will highlight music of 20 years of hits from 2002-2022, as well as, revisit stories, interview topics, and special guests from the 15 years of the show (including special guests like Sammy Sammich and his infamous Pinkie Reports from Pinkie, SK).
- Thursday, March 3 from 2-3pm – Really Great Old JazzΒ with Vincent Murphy will play jazz from βThe Roarinβ Twenties!β in tribute to the 20th Anniversary.
- Friday, March 4 from 7-9am – On our morning drive time show, Wake & Break, join host Ben Valiaho as he introduces you to a variety of guests each Friday this March. In this βWhere Are They Nowβ¦β format, each week he will feature new guests with a special connection to the station.
Week #2 – March 6-12
- Sunday, March 6 from 3-5pm – Rick August will transport you back to 2001 where he will play music from the Borderlines first playlist from November 2001 when CJTR first started broadcasting.
- Monday, March 7th from 10-11am – Mists of Thyme will be doing a special 20th Anniversary show every week in the month of March with different themes.
- Tuesday, March 8 from 1-3:30pm – Jeff “Redbeard” Corbett will be returning to present a “Tribute to International Women’s Day,” a signature show that he had been doing for several years. Jeff had been hosting programs on CJTR for 20 years before he announced his retirement on November 5, 2021. Welcome back, Redbeard!
- Wednesday, March 9th from 1-3pm – Scotland Calling will be doing specials each Wednesday in March based on the ‘5 and 20 blacksmith’s that came frae Aviemore”Β trad song. This week 4 and Twenty Folkies.
- Thursday, March 10 from 1-2pm – On the Air is On the Air with Vincent Murphy will highlight music of 20 years of hits from 2002-2022, as well as, revisit stories, interview topics, and special guests from the 15 years of the show (including special guests like Sammy Sammich and his infamous Pinkie Reports from Pinkie, SK).

- Friday, March 18 from 9-11pm – Daebak! hosts Jo and Erika will transport you back to the Korean music world in the year 2001 as they revisit some of their favourite releases from this year in K-pop history.
- Saturday, March 19 from 10-11am – On Deeper Well , Brenda Tacik has put together a special βWhere Are They Now? Showβ. Brenda will go back in time to play artists that she played in 2002 (when she first started at CJTR). Many of the artists she continues to play even in 2022.
- Saturday, March 19 from 10-11pm – A Hot Mess, hosted by Mrs Vicious, will play special Anniversary themed songs TO CJTR. It will be super romantic.
Week #4 – March 20-26
- Monday, March 21st from 10-11am – Mists of Thyme will be doing a special 20th Anniversary show every week in the month of March with different themes.
- Monday, March 21 from 4-6pm – Darlene Barss on The Basement will take you on an Canadian Indie journey spanning 2001-2021. Darlene will play one song from each year with a few extra tracks from 2001 to fill out the two hours.
- Wednesday, March 23rd from 1-3pm – Scotland Calling will be doing specials each Wednesday in March based on the ‘5 and 20 blacksmith’s that came frae Aviemore”Β trad song. This week 2 and Twenty Kilties (as well as the history of Scotland Calling).
- Thursday, March 24 from 1-2pm – On the Air is On the AirΒ with Vincent Murphy will highlight music of 20 years of hits from 2002-2022, as well as, revisit stories, interview topics, and special guests from the 15 years of the show (including special guests like Sammy Sammich and his infamous Pinkie Reports from Pinkie, SK).
