“The communal aspect of community radio is in part what draws volunteers and listeners alike. While most of us have access to vast catalogues of music, podcasts and lectures in our pockets by way of streaming services, tuning into a CJTR broadcast, even by yourself, is like showing up to a concert. It’s a performance in its own right and while your radio is tuned to a station so too are hundreds more, simultaneously listening to the same music you are — an appropriate activity while we’re meant to pull together while staying apart.”
Thanks to Alec Salloum and the Regina Leader-Post for this great article!
