Beth Curry
The artist-in-residence this month (July 2019) is Beth Curry, who examines and celebrates the Regina Folk Festival in time for their 50th anniversary, through lens of her personal experience with the festival. Tune in every Saturday in July from 3-4pm to hear their stories.
About Beth Curry:
Beth Curry has worked as a site manager at the Regina Folk Festival every year for more than a decade, having spent various parts of her time there as volunteer, audience member and performer. You may also recognize Beth’s voice from many moons ago on CJTR as DJ Bedhead on Tuesday morning and as part of the Thursday afternoon party show Your Other Lover with Jeannie Straub. Beth currently lives between Saskatchewan and Calgary, planning tours for musicians and getting her hands dirty in attempts to dismantle colonialism and patriarchy.
???? ???? What happens when radio is considered a creative space similar to a laboratory, studio or venue, supporting expression and experimentation?
???? ???? ???? Plain A.I.R.is an artist-in-residence radio program that airs on 91.3FM CJTR, Reginaâs community radio station. Each month the program features a different local artist, DJ, musician, band or community member as a guest host who programs a monthâs worth of live, weekly radio shows.
The program airs Saturday afternoons from 3-4pm between January and June (Season 1) and September and December (Season 2) in 2019.
