Kris Alvarez
The Plain A.I.R. (May 2019) artist-in-residence is Kris Alvarez and her show will be called “Little Brown on the Prairie”! Kris Alvarez is a theatre artist + Regina monologue. Kris creates with all ages for places like Globe Theatre School, FadaDance, and The Artesian and recently completed an artist residency with Common Weal Community Arts Respond to Racism program. Kris is passionate about Curtain Razors Theatre as a performer and Artistic Associate on the Board of Directors. After the success of What Kind of Brown Are You, her project inspired by ‘growing up brown’ in 1980s Regina, its current instalment, Burnt Sienna with Kris Alvarez, a variety show “with more colour”, was presented by Curtain Razors’ Moveable Feast 2018-19 series and will continue in 2019-20. ???? ???? What happens when radio is considered a creative space similar to a laboratory, studio or venue, supporting expression and experimentation?
???? ???? ???? Plain A.I.R.is an artist-in-residence radio program that airs on 91.3FM CJTR, Regina’s community radio station. Each month the program features a different local artist, DJ, musician, band or community member as a guest host who programs a month’s worth of live, weekly radio shows.
The program airs Saturday afternoons from 3-4pm between January and June (Season 1) and September and December (Season 2) in 2019.
