Michael Dawson and Amanda Scandrett
The Plain A.I.R. (March 2018) artists-in-residence are Michael Dawson and Amanda Scandrett as FRESH AIR! Michael is the Executive Director of SaskMusic and the Artistic Director of the Gateway Music Festival and Amanda is co-founder of Girls Rock Regina and is a creative therapies practitioner. Both members of the indie rock band Library Voices. Tune in every Saturday in March from 3-4pm to listen to their sonic preoccupations.
About Michael Dawson and Amanda Scandrett:
Michael Dawson is currently employed as the Executive Director of SaskMusic and the artistic director of The Gateway Festival. Previous professional experience includes the Artistic Director of the Saskatchewan Cultural Exchange and the talent buyer for the Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver. Amanda Scandrett is co-founder of Girls Rock Regina and is a creative therapies practitioner. She is currently completing her masters at the U of R. Both Michael & Amanda hold degrees in Arts Education and are memebrs of the band Library Voices.
????????What happens when radio is considered a creative space similar to a laboratory, studio or venue, supporting expression and experimentation?
????????????Plain A.I.R.is an artist-in-residence radio program that airs on 91.3FM CJTR, Regina’s community radio station. Each month the program features a different local artist, DJ, musician, band or community member as a guest host who programs a month’s worth of live, weekly radio shows.
The program airs Saturday afternoons from 3-4pm between January and June (Season 1) and September and December (Season 2) in 2018.
