Taylor Marshall
The Plain A.I.R. (April 2019) artist-in-residence is Taylor Marshall. Taylor Marshall is a founding member of the band The Definitelays, formed in the summer of 2015. She spearheads this musical project as the lead high-kicker, singer, songwriter, and occasionally bangs the drums to allow for maximum rockage. Inspired by 90’s grunge and slacker rock, along with a slave like admiration for Canadian artists Mac De Marco, The Garrys, and The Courtneys, Taylor additionally draws inspiration from cinematic masterpieces to shape her music, with particular references in her songs to such valley dude and valley girl classics like “Point Break” and “Clueless”. Taylor swears by the power of capos, pals, chorus pedals, 90’s surfer cop movies, and more chorus. Taylor also has a solo project in the works, which she hopes will see the light of day this summer, 2019. Tune in every Saturday in February from 3-4pm to check out her sonic preoccupations.
