Ever wanted to host your own radio show or podcast?

At CJTR you can!

91.3FM CJTR, Regina Community Radio is now accepting new program and podcast applications. The submission deadline is Friday, February 19, 2021, at midnight.

The CJTR Programming Committee is especially interested in show ideas that explore the diverse perspectives and identities of our local people, programs produced in languages other than English and French, creative approaches to audio production and broadcasting, and under-heard specialty music.

Due to the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only accepting applications from those who are able to produce remotely (off-site/at home) until further notice.

The Programming Committee will notify applicants of their application results within three weeks of the submission deadline. The Programming Committee selects programs according to broadcast schedule needs, licencse compliance, programming quality, and service to the community.

Please use the on-line show application form to submit your application. If you do not yet have a CJTR membership number (issued a week or so after a membership is purchased) or have forgotten it, please input 000 (zero-zero-zero) in the membership number field on the application form.

All questions can be directed to the Programming Committee by emailing radius@cjtr.ca with the subject line PROGRAM APPLICATION.

Plain A.I.R.: CJTR’s Artist-In-Residence Program

Plain A.I.R. is an artist-in-residence program on 91.3FM CJTR, Regina’s community radio station. Each month the program features a different local artist, DJ, musician, band or community member as a guest host who programs a month’s worth of live, weekly radio shows.

The program airs Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 4pm between January and July (Season 1) and September and December (Season 2).

If you are interested in becoming involved with Plain A.I.R., please follow these steps:

  • Fill out a program application form (linked above) + include a sample playlist or detailed show description. Include the month you’d like to host the program for.
  • Please include a short bio and photo or image that can be used for promotional purposes.

Please send your application to Holly Gilroy at holly@cjtr.ca. All Plain A.I.R. artists-in-residence are gifted a one year membership.

The Monkey’s Paw: CJTR’s Volunteer Training Program (on hiatus during COVID-19)

The Monkey’s Paw is a pop-up volunteer training show. CJTR staff use this time to train new radio volunteers and to give air time to programmers to practice their chops before hosting their own program.

This is also a great show for programmers who can’t commit to their own show on a long-term basis or current programmers who want to try out a new show format.

If you are interested in becoming involved with The Monkey’s Paw, please follow these steps:

Please send your application to Neil Adams, Station Manager, at nadams@cjtr.ca or drop it off in person during business hours at this address: 1102 8th Avenue #301 (3rd floor of the GMC building, corner of Winnipeg Street).
